The Episcopal Church just got more liberal

The Episcopal Church just got more liberal

Transgender and homosexual activists have won a major victory at the Episcopal Church's ongoing annual convention in Indianapolis.

The House of Deputies has passed legislation stating that "gender identity and expression" would not be barriers to ordained ministry. Considering that and the fact that the church's canons were also altered to included transsexual categories alongside gender, race, and sexual orientation as protected status, Jeff Walton of The Institute on Religion & Democracy tells OneNewsNow the already liberal policies within the Episcopal denomination have become more liberal.

Episcopal Church Votes to Allow Transgender Ministers

Episcopal Church Votes to Allow Transgender Ministers

A day after a legislative body of the Episcopal Church voted to sell the denomination's New York headquarters amid budget cuts and declining membership, church leaders on Saturday adopted legislation to give transgenders the right to become lay and ordained ministers.

At the church's ongoing week-long General Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., the House of Bishops approved proposal that would amend two canons to prohibit discrimination based on "gender identity or expression" in the lay and ordained ministry discernment process and in the overall life, worship and governance of the church, Episcopal News Service reported.

Episcopal and Presbyterian Churches to Grapple With Same-Sex Marriage, Gay Ordination

Episcopal and Presbyterian Churches to Grapple With Same-Sex Marriage, Gay Ordination

Two Protestant denominations, The Episcopal Church and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), will be debating gay marriage issues in the upcoming week, and any decisions made may have far-reaching consequences.

The Protestant groups share a similar story, as each has around 1.9 million members in America and has been experiencing divisions over the ordination of homosexual clergy and the acceptance of same-sex unions. Congregations have split over the issues, with some insisting that the church should become more gay-affirming, while others have held firm to the traditional definition of marriage.

TONY DIGIROLAMO- THE CHURCH HAS GONE SO WRONG IN TODAYS CULTURE IT HARDLY RESEMBLES THE CHURCH.
Does anyone think that when Jesus said, I will build my church upon this Rock? I don't think so?
