Last Sunday was Pulpit Freedom Sunday (every Sunday should actually be that).  Because of that I wanted to share the video above which highlights a speech given by Dr. Jim Garlow , senior pastor of Skyline Wesleyan Church in San Diego, CA, at the Under God Indivisible Conference in Arlington, Texas back in July.  In it he explains that the Johnson Amendment passed on July 2, 1954 with a voice vote and no discussion placed restrictions on the speech of just 501(c)3 organizations which includes churches.  Then Senator Lyndon Johnson (D-TX) sought to restrict the criticism leveled at him by two businessmen in his state who started non-profits during his previous campaign.This started the misconception that government, in particular the IRS, has any control over what is said in the pulpit

How did we get to where we are in our culture and our politics today?  I have wondered this since Obama took office and started exacting his socialist agenda on our great country.  There is plenty of blame to go around—complacency, greed, laziness, apathy.  I submit that churches may not have caused the problems we have today, but certainly could have curtailed the advancement of tyranny.  In my work (my book and The Dr. Gina Show), I have laid out the way that some cowardly pastors have tolerated their flocks’ apathy, greed, complacency and laziness, and that only the pastors have the ability to cause a revolution of the greater congregation to make real change.

Some pastors have been brave enough to rise up and do exactly that.  This weekend is “Pulpit Freedom Sunday” in churches across the country.  Pastors in pulpits across the country will not only endorse candidates from the pulpit, but will also send the tapes of the services directly to the IRS.  Now that’s bold!

JIM GARLOW IS A HERO. WHAT HE'S DOING TAKES COURAGE TO STAND UP TO THE STATE, THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FOR WHAT HE BELIEVES TO BE HIS RIGHT AS A PASTOR.

He did a great job on Colbert getting his message out in between the jokes and the laughter right there on the enemies stage.

Many pastors all across the the nation are going to be changing what happens in the pulpit this Sunday.

October 7th is Pulpit Freedom Sunday and these pastors will speak full throated in total God given freedom.

Full throated are Ken Cuccinelli's words, Attorney General of Virginia. He said to pastors at a meeting, you would be surprised just how much freedom you have.

Pastor Jim Garlow, Skyline Church in San Diego has been doing this for 5 years. Preaching without fear and sending the DVD and a letter to the IRS knowing his Constitutional rights to do so.

It started with just a few pastors and grew each year and the IRS did nothing ... they did not respond. They did not because they know it is unconstitutional if they do.

The IRS ruling to muzzle the pulpit has for too long intimidated the church for decades.

This year the numbers are growing radidly and over 1500 pastors are participating. Many more are signing up by going to PulpitFreedom.org
