The Dangers of Melatonin in Children: A Problem of Overuse by Parents

Throughout all of my years as a pediatrician, I have never witnessed the extensive abuse and overuse of any drug or therapy as widespread as what is happening with the current overuse of melatonin in children in the community in which I practice. I suspect and have very firm reason to believe that the overuse is in no way limited to this community alone. The issue is complex but it comes down to a basic tenet of pediatrics and parenting; “physician do no harm,” I would add in this case; “parents do no harm”.  Melatonin has become a mainstay of parenting in certain communities in recent years.

‘I’ll F**king Kill You’: Parents Outraged Over School Assignment Forcing Kids ‘to Read Profanity’

At least two parents in West Knoxville, Tennessee, are up in arms over an “inappropriate” reading assignment that was given to high school students at Hardin Valley Academy over the summer. The book at the center of the debate, “Robopocalypse,” written by Daniel H. Wilson, is said to be, at times, both profane and violent.

“I don’t want to comment specifically on the profanity, but we do consider the maturity of students to be able to understand, and whether the text is appropriate for the grade level and age group,” she continued...“We discussed adult-level language, and decided that most (not all) students of this age group are exposed to profanity through much more graphic means than the written text…,”

AFTER TEACHING THE CURRICULUM "DEATH EDUCATION" IN THE GOVERNMENT  SCHOOLS I'M NOT SURPRISED THAT THEY DON'T THINK THIS IS A DANGEROUS FOR THE KIDS.
It's not just the profanity but the violence as well that should have red flags rising!
They have desensitized our children to these things that draw them closer to humanistic secular world view.
Death Education had been taught for some 12 years at Columbine High School before the massacre in 1999. And, the tragic consequence of that horrific event gives new meaning to "Outcome Based"curriculum and "Values Clarification".
Psychologist William R Coulson, now retired, said this, on the ABC 20/20 program titled, "Death in the Classroom": 
"What makes us think that American education is going to do a good job teaching Death Education. We ought to be trembling about the fact that the schools which failed to teach academics are now presuming to teach on matters of Life And Death."
“Robopocalypse”, is this what public schools are offering to peak students interest in math and science?
