Herman Cain Insists Being Gay Is a 'Choice' and Homosexuality Is 'Sin'

Republican presidential Candidate Herman Cain insists that being gay is a personal choice in an interview on CNN Wednesday, as he had in previous interviews in which he also called homosexuality a "sin."

Cain's statement is a reiteration of comments he made earlier this month on the ABC morning program "The View," when he said "yes" to the question of whether or not he thought being gay is a choice.

RUSH: Well, even though I'm on the radio, folks, it's now obvious I have to be very, very careful with my gestures, because there's a camera in here...

No, I'm not saying sexual harassment doesn't happen. I'm just saying that it doesn't happen a whole lot of times people admit to it happening. They'll make a settlement out of court rather than go to court to litigate it just to get rid of it. It's become an accredited way for malcontent women to score some money; there's no question about it. You're not gonna have big corporate human resource people admitting this because they don't have the guts to. But that's what it's become. Just like everything else there are genuine, legitimate cases of sexual harassment, and there are phony, fraudulent, fake ones. And the phony, fraudulent, fake ones are not about sexual harassment; they're about politics, pure and simple. It's undeniable. Don't even try to argue it with me, I'm not in the mood.

The whole world is watching: OWS protester talks about assaults inside the camp

Via Lee Stranahan, Brandon Darby, and Andrew Breitbart, who has this exactly right: “Mayor Bloomberg is allowing New York’s inmates to run the asylum.” Not only that, allegedly he’s sending extra inmates in. Remember, according to the Daily News, the NYPD is actually steering drunks and derelicts to Zuccotti Park to make life more dangerous for protesters in hopes that they’ll leave. OWS would have a problem with that regardless, as word’s bound to get around among the city’s homeless that there’s free eats and warm blankets downtown, but Bloomberg seems perfectly happy to let it go on and on. At best, he’s negligent about a threat to public safety; at worst, he’s complicit in it. What you’re looking at here, potentially, is an exhibit in the inevitable lawsuit against the city.

Deaths from painkiller overdose triple in decade

The number of overdose deaths from powerful painkillers more than tripled over a decade, the government reported Tuesday — a trend that a U.S. health official called an epidemic, but one that can be stopped.

Prescription painkillers such as OxyContin, Vicodin and methadone led to the deaths of almost 15,000 people in 2008, including actor Heath Ledger. That's more than three times the 4,000 deaths from narcotics in 1999.

Bloomberg to OWS: Congress caused the mortgage crisis, not the banks

By this time, everyone should be aware of the federal policies that precipitated the housing bubble and its collapse — the push by Congress and two administrations to push higher-risk lending in order to expand home ownership, as well as the effort by Congress to get Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to spread that risk through mortgage-backed securities.

BLOOMBERG TO OWS: “I hear your complaints,” Bloomberg said. “Some of them are totally unfounded. It was not the banks that created the mortgage crisis. It was, plain and simple, Congress who forced everybody to go and give mortgages to people who were on the cusp. Now, I’m not saying I’m sure that was terrible policy, because a lot of those people who got homes still have them and they wouldn’t gave gotten them without that.
