Hurricane Sandy: Katrina on the Hudson?

Hurricane Sandy: Katrina on the Hudson?

One parallel: A late evacuation order. Even before the storm struck, weatherblogger Brendan Loy — famous for calling for early evacuation of New Orleans before Katrina struck — criticizing Mayor Bloomberg for not ordering early or extensive enough evacuations in New York, and for making the “ignorant” statement that Sandy wouldn’t be as bad as a hurricane…

After Sandy struck, some areas did worse than others, and FEMA — as with Katrina — got bad press. Manhattan was hit hard, but the outer boroughs suffered more. Staten Island residents say they were forgotten by relief efforts and one press report called the island “a giant mud puddle of dead dreams.” Adding insult to injury, when another nor’easter approached the area FEMA closed its Staten Island office “due to weather.” Time called it “the island that New York City forgot.” Rudy Giuliani called FEMA’s performance “as bad as Katrina.”

THE PEOPLE IN NEW YORK AND NEW JERSEY NEED OUR HELP. CHURCHES ALL OVER THE NATION ARE GATHERING ESSENTIALS, CLOTHING AND MONEY TO SET UP SOUP AND FOOD KITCHENS FOR SURVIVORS.
VIRGINIA BEACH -- Sunday morning, Rock Church put out the call to its congregation for donations of items that would help victims of Hurricane Sandy in New York. Hours later, the donations started to line up and pile up.
"We're working with a group out of Brooklyn that's working all throughout the Manhattan area and, also, working with another group in Long Island," Pastor John Blanchard told 13News. "We're doing everything we can to make a difference. There's people who are hurting. There's people who are desperate, and so we're trying to get them the relief they need as fast as possible."

Sheriff Lee After the Storm: Lets's Go to the Video Tape

Which brings us to this. Direct from Jindal’s office, it’s archive video of none other than Sheriff Harry Lee (who passed away two years ago) endorsing Jindal for governor. Why? Because he was so helpful and hands-on in using his congressional authority to assist the recovery effort after Katrina, which included … a personal visit to Lee’s office “the day after” the storm. Nuance. I’ll let Jim Treacher take it from there.

CSTV- TONY DIGIROLAMO- THEY ARE LIARS MSNBCERS AND THE REST. THEY HAVE VIDEO ARCHIVES UP TO THEIR THROATS. THEY JUST LOVE DOING THIS TO CONSERVATIVES.

HEY RACHAEL MADASACOW "AHH BAHHH A AHH I AHH WHA WHA WHAT?! JINDAL WAS THERE ... HE DID HELP THE SHERIFF ... AH BUT AHH BBBBUT I AHH..."

O'lberman "oh god" ... the Katrina story was tr... tr..true?!

They keep digging the hole folks ... You think that the executives at NBC would put an end to the three stooges ... wait... that's an insult to those guys. they acted stupid ... Matthews, Olby and Madasacow are stupid.

Sorry people this story has my eyes bleeding!

I began to realize what these liberals are trying to do ... and that is to destroy the reputation of one great success story in Bobby Jindal.

Take a look at this Blog from Megan McArdle, The Atlantic, Jindalmania: Jindal and the legislature passed anti-corruption laws that in a surprising turn of events actually seem to have done something about corruption--suddenly the state is getting the best scores in the country. They pushed through disclosure rules for all government officials--state and local, appointed and elected. He got a law passed that forbid legislators from doing business with the state. And he took on a tax and regulatory structure that had been built around the notion that companies couldn't go anywhere, and could hence be bled dry.

There scared to death folks that's why Rachel Maddow was speachless.

This guy's coming to Washington soon and they know it.
