Low levels of antidepressants and other psychoactive drugs in water supplies can trigger the expression of genes associated with autism – in fish at least.

The use of antidepressants has increased dramatically over the past 25 years, says Michael Thomas of Idaho State University in Pocatello. Around 80 per cent of each drug passes straight through the human body without being broken down, and so they are present in waste water. In most communities, water purification systems cannot filter out these pharmaceuticals. "They just fly right through," says Thomas, which means they ultimately find their way into the water supply.

The concentration of these drugs in drinking water is very low – at most, they are present at levels several orders of magnitude lower than the prescription doses. But since the drugs are specifically designed to act on the nervous system, Thomas hypothesised that even a small dose could affect a developing fetus.

ANTIDEPRESSANTS???? Although the latest news as in this article discusses the diagnosis of an inoperable brain tumor I want you to be aware that does not mean an antidepressant was not involved. Doctors FAR TOO OFTEN hand out antidepressants right along with a diagnosis like that. These are given after accidents, surgeries, trauma of any kind. They are given to stop smoking, urinary incontinence, etc., etc., etc. so when anything like this happens the question about medications MUST be asked! That is what I want understood about this suicide. It should not just be dismissed due to this diagnosis.

Mark Levin on his repeated weekend radio show said to caller, who said, his doctor turned him down for meds ... he said he was Bi-Polar/ADD. The doctor said he was too old to have ADD. Levin said, "you can have ADD as an adult" & get meds.

Why? For a bogus disease from an observable pscience!!

first of all doctors are giving a diagnosis based on what? Behavior.

Based on an understanding that psychologists are trained for. It is unlike anything an MD does ... Yet, they are prescribing medication to someone that might not need these dangerous drugs.

Now, I love Mark Levin and want you to get his new book "Liberty and Tyranny", he is no doubt brilliant in matters I care about.

However, I believe he just showed a spot of ignorance on his part that many Americans frankly share.

There are many people in this culture that are on the antidepressants, psychotropic drugs that give this failure in science worldwide a pass. Many of them are in news, entertainment, law and even in the church.
