James Holmes' Psychiatrist Contacted University Police Weeks Before Movie-Theater Shooting: ABC Exclusive

The psychiatrist who treated suspected movie-theater shooter James Holmes made contact with a University of Colorado police officer to express concerns about her patient's behavior several weeks before Holmes' alleged rampage, sources told ABC News.

The sources did not know what the officer approached by Dr. Lynne Fenton did with the information she passed along. They said, however, that the officer was recently interviewed, with an attorney present, by the Aurora Police Department as a part of the ongoing investigation of the shooting.

DR LYNNE FENTON SEEMED WORRIED ABOUT THIS GUY.  AMAZING HOW THESE PEOPLE THAT CAN FLIP AND DO HARM TO OTHERS SLIP THROUGH THE CRACKS.

They knew that there was a clear and present possibility that Holmes could do some harm. Did they just let it slip away.

It reminds me of another scenario in the Columbine High Massacre. When that awful event hit the news in April 1999 there was a shockwave that went through a freelance producer, Lisa Shreve.

9 years earlier, she produced a segment, "Death in the Classroom", for ABC's 20/20, Columbine was teaching students about death!

You must see this 20/20 story and the Video which was revealed on Culture Shock.

I know this is controversial to do but I feel it is vital to the well being of our children in the public schools. I feel ABC News had this hidden from the American people and it must be revealed for every parent. This video on 20/20 called "Death in the Classroom" was broadcast in 1990. It was shocking when it first aired, but even more shocking ... Why didn't they revisit that segment as they knew that Columbine was part of that 20/20 report?

I believe Psychiatrist, Lynne Fenton had the responsibility to follow up to make sure everything was being covered. It appears she may not have.

That's what happened at Columbine not so far from the Movie Massacre.

9 years earlier the producer of "Death in the Classroom" believed this curriculum was morbid and shocking and felt the stories were related... red flags were going up at the hour this was being produced.

Lisa Shreve wanted to revisit the story and ABC declined.

Aurora, Colo., shooting suspect James Holmes came to the attention of the threat assessment committee at the University of Colorado but no further action was taken because he left the school more than a month before the attack that killed 12 and injured 58, sources told ABC News.

ABC News has learned that Dr. Lynne Fenton, the psychiatrist who was treating Holmes, 24, at the school, was also a key member of the university's threat assessment team. The group of experts were responsible for protecting the school from potentially violent students.

Psychiatrist Treating Shooting Suspect Previously Reprimanded James Holmes Treated By CU Psychiatrist

 The psychiatrist who was seeing Aurora movie theater shooting suspect James Holmes, was reprimanded by the Colorado Board of Medical Examiners in 2005.

Dr. Lynne Fenton was reprimanded in February 2005 for prescribing medication to herself, her husband and employee, according to documents obtained by 7NEWS reporter Marshall Zelinger.

The medications were prescribed in the late 1990s, according to the document.

We all know that art immitates life but time and again we see life immitating art.

That's what happened last night when James Holmes walked into a theater at the screening of Batman's, Dark Night Rising.

He came through the back door right in front of the silver screen and became the movie. People thought at first it was a part of the entertainment. A survivor said, "He looked like an actor" ... How chilling must that have been when he opened fire in a crowded theater.

Life immitating art is deadly, or sexual and it is destructive.

Beck said, "There's a hole in the soul of America" and "Culture Shock" our TV show did this as well, we called it, "Has America Lost It's Soul"? I have to say yes it has.

Because we have turned our backs on God we now have a whole generation that no longer fears God or believes in Him.

Look at what a "flash mob"of 300 did to a Walmart store recently. They didn't just steal things they terrorized the people shopping. Can you imagine what that was like for the elderly and children?

Psychologists have turned sinful behavior into "sick" behavior. In other words, your not responsible for your actions.

What James Holmes did in a Colorado theater will be called sick. We may even spare his life in a courtroom decision soon.

Some "terror" and fear needs to be a part of how society handles people who do these heiness crimes.

I'm one that believes we will find that James Holmes is on a antidepressant cocktail of meds as is almost always the case.

You do the drugs and the crime, you do the time... No mass killer should be allowed to integrate back into society either.
