Franklin Graham Responds to Criticism From NAACP Over Obama's Faith

Franklin Graham responded on Tuesday to criticism from faith leaders in the NAACP who accused the evangelist of questioning President Obama's Christianity.

"I regret any comments I have ever made which may have cast any doubt on the personal faith of our president, Mr. Obama," he stated. "The president has said he is a Christian and I accept that (and have said so publicly on many occasions). I apologize to him and to any I have offended for not better articulating my reason for not supporting him in this election – for his faith has nothing to do with my consideration of him as a candidate."

TONY DIGIROLAMO- WE REPORTED WHAT YOU ARE HEARING FROM FRANKLIN GRAHAM AND HE'S OUT OF THE PRAYER CLOSET SO TO SPEAK.

Franklin Graham was probably not speaking from his heart when he said that Obama is a Christian. I'm sure he could've elaborated on that statement but that didn't happen on a cable news network. But, at the ministry the next day behind closed doors I would have loved to have been there.

UPDATE: THIS CAME OUT OF THE COMMENTS BELOW:
WARREN MARCUS OF INSP NETWORK:
1) Interesting! I talked directly with Franklin Graham when we interviewed him on the Inspiration (INSP) Tv Program, "Inspiration Today." At that time he said he had met with Obama and asked him if he was "Born again." He said then that Obama said he was a community organizer and was dealing with Pastors in Chicago who asked what church he was affiliated with and he wasn't going to a church. So he began going. Graham said, he never offered any testimony of accepting jesus as Lord & Savior!

2) I'm just telling you what Franklin Graham told me, David Cerullo, and others in the crew gathered that day in the studio. He told us clearly that he gave Obama the opportunity to share his testimony of receiving or embracing Jesus as Lord & Savior, but Obama never did. At that time, Graham said he seriously questioned whether Obama was a Christian. He didn't want to say that on TV or publicly because the press would crucify him. We had even taped that conversation. And when Franklin realized we had kept the cameras rolling, he called and asked if we could destroy those tapes.
TONY DIGIROLAMO- Did you destroy them Warren?
Warren Marcus- Had to - but there were many witnesses.
