Rick Santorum has won the Mississippi and Alabama Republican primaries, Fox News projects.
The pair of wins in the Deep South could help Santorum build his argument that he, and not Newt Gingrich, should be the primary alternative to Mitt Romney for the Republican presidential nomination.
"We did it again," Santorum told a cheering crowd in Louisiana Tuesday night.
