RYAN MOATS IS A ROLE MODEL

BY TONY DIGIROLAMO- This story could have had an ending more horrific ... The kind we see all too often in the media.

Officer's actions at hospital damage public trust, undercut colleagues
Columnist Jacquielynn Floyd
DALLASNEWS.COM- He treated Moats – who had run a red light while rushing to the hospital – as if he were a criminal. Worse, perhaps, he lectured him as though he were a child... It's painful viewing. You can feel Ryan Moats' helpless desperation as the minutes tick past.

It is painful viewing ... I feel like apologizing to Ryan Moats personally.

He handled the situation well and with unusual self-control. These days if it were anyone else he would be dead for attacking the cop or the cop would be dead.

But that scenario did not play out ... and you have the authorities apologizing to Ryan Moats and his family. He never told the officer that he was an NFL player so that he would receive favor.

No, Ryan Moats showed a dignified, honorable, manner in the face of authority gone wild.

In our uncivilized, self-centered world we now live in I personally thank you, Ryan Moats, for showing the world how to walk through a difficult heartbreaking event. You showed young people in our country how to act under great pressure.

An NFL player that is a Role Model par excellence!
