Fox anchor Shepard Smith took DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz to task when she claimed the Republican electoral base lacks energy compared to the Democratic base. "The Democratic base is enthusiastic about the President who talked about a single-payer system and never did it; about the President who said he was gonna close down Gitmo and never did it, about the President who said he was gonna end the war? I mean, how many promises can one person break before the base goes, 'I am done with you?'" Smith persisted over Schultz's objections.
